Artist creates world's largest rainwater mosaic

The video you are about to watch shows the assembly of a beautiful mosaic made up of glasses containing rainwater. It is the largest in the world, and was created last year by artist Belo Serge with the help of over 100 volunteers over 62 hours of work. Check out the following time lapse :

According to Serge, mounting the image you just saw required 66, 000 biodegradable glasses and 15, 000 liters of colored rainwater using 1 kg of vegetable pigment. The entire image occupied an area of just over 330 square meters, and if all the glasses were queued they would form a 5.2-kilometer-long line.

But do not think that the mosaic was created just to be appreciated for its beauty or grandeur. In fact, the artist's intention was to draw public attention to the global drinking water crisis and the dramatic consequences of its lack. In addition, drawing has several hidden meanings.

Different shades, for example, represent the levels of impurities that can be found in different parts of the planet, and the baby still in the mother's womb conveys the idea that water is indispensable to our lives, even before birth.
