Israeli artist “uses” the Dead Sea to create salt-encrusted works

Have you heard about the work of an Israeli artist named Sigalit Landau? We at Mega Curioso have already published an article about her here - more specifically, about a work created by Sigalit called “Bride of Salt”, which consists of a dress that she dived in the Dead Sea for two years and which, over the years, In time, it was completely covered with salt, giving the impression that the piece is made of crystal. But this dress you saw in the image above isn't the only unusual piece created by Sigalit - or the Dead Sea, depending on how you look at it! The artist actually “uses” this huge hypersaline lake to plunge all kinds of objects and wait for them to turn into salt-encrusted sculptures. See how interesting:

According to Kate Sierzputowski of Colossal, Sigalit began designing her pieces about 15 years ago, and the process is to carefully position whatever she wants the Dead Sea to transform into art, to use many weights to maintain the submerged object - as the high salinity makes its waters extremely dense prevents bodies from sinking into the lake - and wait for the waters to deposit salt crystals on the surface of the objects.
