Russian authorities reopen case of mysterious Dyatlov Pass incident

Do you know the story of the mysterious Step Dyatlov Incident? We have already talked about this ominous case here at Mega Curioso - you can find information through this link - but basically it involved 9 Russian climbers led by Igor Dyatlov who, in 1959, set out on an expedition to a remote northern region of the Ural Mountains and were found dead in very, very strange circumstances.

This is because, although it was winter, several of the victims were found with little clothing and bare feet, and their tents showed signs of being torn from the inside. Moreover, while some of the bodies were mutilated, others had fractures and injuries so extensive that they seemed compatible with those of people who die in car accidents, a hypothesis that was discarded at the time. Not to mention that investigators would have found traces of radiation on the climbers' clothes. Anyway, very sinister ...

Looking for answers

It has been 60 years since the terrible discovery of the corpses, and although countless theories have emerged over the years to explain what may have happened - such as the climbers were the accidental victims of military testing, the attack of nervous aliens or some mountain monster - the case still remains unsolved.

However, that could change because, according to a report released by RT, Russian authorities have decided to reopen the case, conduct further investigations and try to find out the truth about what happened. While on the expedition, climbers captured many photos along the way, and some of them described the progress of the adventure in diaries.

The youths also left everything behind inside the tents - giving the impression of having suddenly fled - and these items must be thoroughly re-examined by forensic experts and a group of investigators. One theory the team wants to analyze is that climbers have been hit by an avalanche or violent snowstorm; therefore, they should visit in March where the incident took place.
