Airplane explodes during air show in Madrid [video]

According to El País, last Sunday, May 5, an aircraft taking part in an air demonstration at Cuatro Vientos Aerodrome in Madrid, Spain, crashed and caused an explosion that left 18 people injured. Ladislao Tejedor, Air Army commander and experienced fighter pilot, was 35 years old and died in hospital. Watch an amateur video recorded by an accident witness below:

According to the publication, Tejedor lost control of the plane while flying over an area where many people who watched the demonstration roamed. The fall occurred only 20 meters away, and could have caused the deaths of dozens of people. The pilot was an assistant to Spanish Defense Minister Pedro Morenés, and the causes that may have led to Tejedor's loss of control are still under investigation.
