Water helmets: photographer clicks insects with droplets on their heads

The curious image you just saw above is part of a series created by photographer Dmitriy Yoav Reinshtein, in which he clicks insects with water droplets on their heads. The photographer used macro lenses to be able to show all the details that appear in the portraits, and the effect was that interesting water helmet aspect that the animals seem to be wearing.

According to the folks at PetaPixel, who published a story about Reinshtein, the photographer lives in Israel, where he works with advertising photography and as a creative retoucher. However, one of his passions is capturing over-detailed images of tiny insects and, in the case of this series, playing with water droplets.

To get the images, Reinshtein worked with both Nikon and Canon equipment, and of course using macro lenses that let you photograph objects - or little beings - very close. Check out the clicks below:
