Caramel dog that succeeds on Instagram is not Brazilian and not mutt

Caramel mutt dogs have become a symbol of Brazil on the Internet, and an Instagram filter featuring a copy of the popular dog has won the hearts of many Internet users this week. The animal that has been starring in various Stories, however, is not a mutt and, in a way, not even Brazilian.

The creator of the viralizing art is a 26-year-old Italian programmer named Antonio Ruggiero, who has gained over 210, 000 followers on Instagram in recent days, totaling over 300, 000 followers on his profile. Already the protagonist of the production is Sasha, a dog of five years that is a mixture of German Shepherd breeds with Maremano. That is, after all, the caramel mutt is not that mutt.

Speaking to Tilt staff , Ruggiero said the filter was born during a 3D modeling experiment. "I was experimenting with a technique called photogrammetry, which consists of creating a 3D model from photos, " explains the programmer. "My dog never stays still. She always runs around. But one day she was crouching in the shade because it was so hot. So I tried to make a video of her, and then I created the 3D model."

Ruggiero also revealed that Brazil wasn't the only place his caramel dog filter hit: besides turning fever here, the mask for Instagram Stories was also a hit in Malaysia. As the Italian and Portuguese languages are similar, the owner of Sasha even tries to exchange messages with his new fans here, but had to call a friend to be his spokesman and meet the demands of Brazilians.

The success of the filter has caused many people to contact the programmer after failing to play. Because 3D filter technology needs a gyroscope, however, not all cell phones are compatible with the novelty.

If you have a smartphone that can handle the 3D filter and haven't tested "Sasha Dog" yet, you can download it at this link from a mobile phone using the Instagram app.
