Production begins for Alice in Wonderland sequel

Four years after Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland hit theaters, grossing $ 1 billion worldwide, production begins his sequel, Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass, under the direction this time. by James Bobin, who worked on the two recent Muppets movies.

In a press release announcing the start of production, Disney confirms the names of actors who will return in the sequel, as well as new faces and voices in the upcoming feature film.

Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass promises to revisit Lewis Carroll's stories in a new storyline that returns to Underland and back in time. "Underland" is the name of the magical country visited by Alice in Burton's film and not "Wonderland" as in classic literature - in the feature we found out that Alice heard the name of this place wrong, always calling it "Wonderland" when, it would actually be "Underland".

Main cast are Johnny Depp (as the Mad Hatter), Anne Hathaway (White Queen), Mia Wasikowska (Alice Kingsleigh), Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen) and Sacha Baron Cohen (Time).

Rhys Ifans will feature Zanik Hightopp, Mad Hatter's father, Matt Lucas as Tweedledee and Tweedledum, and Ed Speleers as James Harcourt.

Visual effects characters will include Stephen Fry as the Cheshire Cat, Toby Jones as the voice of Wilkins, Alan Rickman as the Blue Caterpillar, and Michael Sheen as the voice of the White Rabbit.

Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass opens on May 26, 2016 in Brazilian theaters.
