Medical condition makes British girl unable to have orgasms

Imagine how frustrating it must be to be unable to feel any pleasure during sex. For, according to Caroline McGuire of the Daily Mail, Megan Ward, a 19-year-old from Birmingham, England, revealed that she never, ever once had an orgasm, not even with the help of vibrators.

According to Caroline, the university student suffers from a condition known as anorgasmia, which consists in the absence of orgasms. This problem can be caused by a combination of psychological and physical factors, and affects both women and men - although cases with males are much less frequent.

Different types

There are several reasons why people may develop anorgasmia, and according to information released by the Mayo Clinic, there are four types of anorgasmia: primary, secondary, situational, and absolute. The primary is defined by someone who has never had an orgasm, and the secondary manifests when the person has had orgasms, but has difficulty reaching one.

Situational anorgasmia, on the other hand, is one in which one is able to feel pleasure only in certain situations - such as during oral sex or clitoral stimulation through masturbation, for example - while absolute anorgasmia is the inability to reach orgasm independently of the stimulus or situation.

Difficulties

According to statistics, 1 in 20 women has never had an orgasm in their lives, and that seems to be the case with Megan. As she revealed, she doesn't even imagine what it must be like to climax, and on several occasions has given up on having an active sex life. The Briton has a boyfriend, but her frustration of not feeling pleasure is so great that she even sought the help of a sex therapist.

However, even after several sessions - without any progress - the student could not overcome the disappointment of never having had an orgasm and gave up treatment. On the other hand, Megan also explains that it is difficult to miss something that is completely unknown to her, and states that she will continue trying to "get there" with the help and patience of her mate.
