1 - Bazantar

With 29 strings more than ordinary double basses, the Bazantar really is a curious instrument. Developed by Mark Deutsch, all of these strings vibrate in harmony with the five common strands, creating the impression that we are hearing an entire group of strings playing at the same time. And if it seems hard to play the conventional double bass, just imagine this one!

2 - Didgeridoo

You have probably seen someone playing the curious instrument above, which was created by Aboriginal people in Australia. Incidentally, this is believed to be the oldest wind instrument in the world and, despite its simplicity and it only produces a kind of loud humming, when human voices are incorporated the result can be quite interesting, as you can see in the video above.

3 - Stalactite organ

The incredible instrument above is located in the caves of Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, and was developed by Leland Sprinkle, a Pentagon mathematician in the 1950s. The organ is regarded as the largest musical instrument in the world, occupying an area of over of 14 thousand square meters!

It took Sprinkle three years to select specific stalactites that resonated in the desired tones and chords, installing small rubber heads that “touch” these formations when the organ keys are pressed. Sensational, isn't it?

Plus, it has six strings that can - amazing! - be touched through an atomic force microscope.
