Meet the young woman addicted to eating deodorant

After lunch, nothing like a good spoonful of .... deodorant? This is the routine of the New York teenager identified only as Nicole, who has been addicted to the product since she was only four years old, a taste that has intensified in the last two years.

Nicole's story became known worldwide when she appeared on a TLC show that shows strange addictions. The teenager reported eating up to 15 bottles of the product per month.

According to the young woman, she keeps bottles of deodorant scattered around the house and eats a little every day, a little after each meal, and turns the product into a snack for random moments, such as waking up in the middle of the night.

She says she can't control her will, and even if the addiction causes her stomach aches and leaves her mouth dry, she just can't put her favorite "dish" aside.

The 19-year-old's addiction is such that she begins to experience side effects from not consuming the product for a long time. She reports severe headaches and other side effects such as anxiety and palpitations.

Following the insistence of friends and Nicole's own boyfriend, the girl has been reducing the consumption of the substance, and has now had medical monitoring. Among the elements present in deodorants is aluminum, which can cause dementia, seizures and even death when swallowed.
