After the "A4 Waist", the new thinness challenge is to have iPhone 6 knee
Recently we here at Mega Curious posted a story about a ridiculous thinness challenge that had come up in China. You can check out the full story via this link, but basically it is about posting pictures where the girls pose with A4 sheets of paper in front of their abs to prove just how skinny they are.
Of course, the story of the unrealistic waistline has been supercriticated around the world, and instead of the Chinese turning on and stopping this skinny defiance talk, behold, they have launched a new - and equally bizarre: knees of iPhone 6!
Clueless Challenge
In fact, the new challenge follows the same pattern as the previous one: instead of taking pictures with A4 sheets of paper in front of their waists, the Chinese are posting images on social networks where they hide their knees behind iPhones 6 to prove that their Legs are thin. Is it appropriate?
Most striking is that although the idea is completely baffling - seriously ... grab a cell phone and try to hide both knees behind it! - One of the posts dedicated to the challenge explains that it represents a new generation of leg beauty standard and has already garnered over 80 million views and 70, 000 comments.
Speaking of beauty standards, just for the record, according to doctor Benjamin Bedford, consulted by the staff of Teen Vogue, knee size bears no relation to body weight. According to him, this part of the body is composed of bone and cartilage, and these structures have fixed dimensions. Thus, the only way to make the knees look smaller would be to reduce the size of the quadriceps, the muscle above the patella.
And to lose muscle mass, as you may know, you have to restrict your diet drastically - in other words, even starve yourself! And yet the knees themselves would remain exactly the same size.
