Although there are cutlery with a design more innovative than others, none of these utensils are very different from the original shape or function for which they were originally designed. However, according to website Dezeen, designer Jinhyun Jeon has decided to rethink these objects, creating tools that not only feed us but also arouse a number of sensations in our mouths.

According to the publication, Jeon decided to develop dozens of cutlery that play with synesthesia, with different colors, temperatures, shapes and textures that stimulate the senses and can make the taste of food be perceived in a completely new way.

Thus, utensils of colors such as orange or red, for example, would serve to whet the appetite, and different textures and materials - such as plastic and steel - would awaken the sense of touch within our mouths. The designer believes that synaesthetic cutlery can make people pay more attention to the sensations produced with each bite, enriching the simple act of eating.
