The Dior show was undoubtedly one of the most awaited moments of Paris fashion week. Since John Galliano, maison's creative director was fired after his anti-Semitic comments, everyone has been waiting for the launch of the Fall / Winter 2012 collection signed by Bill Gaytten and his first assistant Susanna Venegas.

For the past 15 years, all the pieces bearing the name “Dior” had passed through Galliano's hands. Even so, there is still a little of it left in Gaytten's creations. The two worked together for 23 years, which in a way maintains the continuity of the Dior and John Galliano brand creations, both belonging to the LVMH group.

According to what was seen on the catwalks of the Dior parade, the European winter will abuse the prints and geometric shapes. The bold colors are also in evidence. It seems that the coldest season of the year will be much happier on the old continent.

Although not signed by Galliano, the new Dior collection has plenty of volume and layers of light, airy fabrics. As it should be, the parade was ended by long houses worthy of the maison: bulky and full of layers.

However, Gaytten is not the creative director of Dior. The name of Galliano's successor is still a mystery, although Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy is one of the most highly rated for the job.
