Facing death: record-breaking car jump is bullshit and recorded on GoPro

Records exist in just about everything we can imagine: from the amount of hot dogs a person can eat to sporting and automotive feats. But these records are not always created in light and simple categories, as there are many cases where attempts to establish new brands entail real death risks for competitors.

A very clear example of this is in the video you can see at the top of this news. A French rally driver named Guerlain Chicherit tried to set a new world record of car jumping. He calculated the required speed, ramp height and platform angles, as well as adjusting the accessories involved in the BMW Mini that would be used during the run.

Unfortunately, something did not go as planned by Chicherit. And you can check everything that happened in the video - the main action happens from 7 minutes - that illustrates this story. Recorded with GoPro cameras installed in the driver's car and helmet, you can feel a little of what he lived in those moments. It is worth checking out all the action of this world record breaking attempt.

It is worth mentioning that - thanks to the safety technology involved in the project - the pilot was virtually unharmed from the whole crash!
