Engineer creates coat that avoids excess baggage expenses

Maintaining baggage limits set by air flight regulators is a difficult task. On the outward journey it may even be that the luggage is within the allowable weight, but when it comes time to go home who resists the shopping that always extrapolate on the scale?

And everyone knows that to load a few extra pounds you have to pay high fees. To prevent this kind of problem from happening and reduce travel expenses, Irish engineer John Power created JakToGo - a luggage jacket that can be carried in one hand or worn over the body to avoid extra charges.

Like garments, models may not be very attractive, but the amount and capacity of the pockets make up for the lack of a good cut and the perfect fit. According to the British newspaper The Daily Mail, a JakToGo has 14 different sized compartments that can carry 15 pounds of luggage in total.

The idea to develop the luggage jacket came from John Power's need to cut costs, as he often travels twice a week. Even using the airlines that sell the cheapest tickets, it is common for this discount to be offset against the fees charged for the carriage of luggage.

The British newspaper reports that this season Ryanair charged 60 pounds in advance to carry a 15-pound baggage. Upon arrival at the destination, the company requested to pay a further £ 240 (just over 785 reais) fee at the airport.

To avoid such high fees, John Power's invention can be folded and carried like a bag before and after facing the airport. During the time of boarding and disembarking, it is sufficient for the passenger to open the bag and look at the body.

“I get some funny looks at the airport, but I usually sell about ten units after each trip, ” said JakToGo's creator.

Luggage jackets can be found directly at the company's online store. Available in three models, the pieces resemble coats, vests and dresses and can be made of canvas, jeans or leather. Prices range from £ 69.95 (about 228 reais) to £ 265.95 (approximately 869 reais).
