Photo essay portrays the beauty and mystery of isolated tribes

Even in such a globalized world as ours, there are still isolated tribes whose life forms have changed little or nothing over time. The fascination aroused by these peoples and the desire to document their traditions before they disappear forever find a prominent place in the life and work of photographer Jimmy Nelson of the United Kingdom.

In more than three decades devoted to this profession, Nelson has been in the remotest places on earth and has recorded tribes who resist the unstoppable advance of globalization. Recently, his forays have yielded a book entitled "Homage to Humanity" in which he reveals the uniqueness of each culture and the importance of keeping it preserved.
