This jellyfish looks like a burst of walking fireworks!

The depths of the oceans really hold many secrets! Or did you know there is a jellyfish that looks like a walking fireworks explosion? Of the species Halitrephes maasi, the animal you will see next is native to the Revillagigedo Archipelago, which is off the coast of Baja California, and was spotted embellishing the seabed just over 1, 200 meters deep. Check out:

According to Christopher Jobson of Colossal, the jellyfish was filmed by one of the submersibles remotely operated by scientists aboard the EV Nautilus, a research vessel focused on exploring the world's oceans. According to the team traveling in this boat, usually these animals go completely unnoticed in the depths, where sunlight is not able to reach.

In the case of the colorful "show" that was captured in the video, the researchers explained that it is a result of the way the submersible light was reflected by the radial channels that carry nutrients through the body of the jellyfish. Without this light source, the animal would be nothing more than a jellyfish hovering in the water.
