China's Space Station to fall to Earth in March

China's first space station, Tiangong-1, will crash to Earth during March. It is not yet possible to identify an exact date, yet there is some concern about the 9 tonne station's parts going into orbit - however, the possibility of damage in cities is remote.

Tiangong-1 is China's first manned space station, launching in 2011. The module has honored its role, lasting as long as engineers thought - setting aside a "little problem" in 2016 when they lost touch with the module. One of the last manned missions to the station was 2013.

Let's hope she falls away from our homes

Several teams across the Earth are now tracking the module, and it was through this tracking that it was possible to determine the fall for March. According to the accounts, there is a possibility that Tiangong-1 will fall in a US area, but it will probably fall into the sea.

The Tiangong-1 is over 10 meters long and upon entering Earth will break into several smaller pieces. Also, it is worth noting that the station carries hydrazine propellant, a highly toxic agent.

  • For all that, well, let's hope she falls away from our homes
