These 5 people were arrested for their own stupidity.

It's not from today that there are people out there trying to get along in illegal and criminal ways, and some cases of banditry deserve mention. The following stories will show people who were arrested for two reasons: for the crimes they committed and because they acted very, very stupid.

1 - Ted Bundy

This guy was one of the biggest killers in history, having been known for his preference for young women who were attractive to him. Bundy always acted the same cold, following a kind of morbid, cruel, and extremely disgusting script.

First he kidnapped his victims, then took them into captivity and committed sexual and physical violence. He then killed them and kept their bodies hidden to maintain necrophilia relations.

Of course, he was one of America's most wanted serial killers, but it seemed that Bundy could always escape unscathed from any investigation. It was in August 1975, however, in the US state of Utah, that luck was no longer on the side of the criminal. Highwayman Bob Hayward did his job normally when he noticed a suspiciously moving vehicle.

Hayward asked the vehicle to stop and went for an ordinary survey. The bad guy wanted to impersonate a good boy and behaved like he wasn't a big outlaw. The problem was that the killer forgot that some theft tools were in sight. Missed it, Bundy.

In times of social networking, Facebook, Instagram, Vine, Twitter and the like, it is normal for some things to happen, such as the urge to record anything from the weekend pizza to the post it stuck to the desk, or the strange need to publish even the most irrelevant thoughts.

The point is: use the social network you want, but be moderated, know what you will post and of course never forget to log off any site that requires a password, after all, you don't know what can happen if your information is available so easily.

These basic tips should have been read - or not, in fact - by two smart Colombians, who decided to bank customers at a cafe that had computers with internet access. After a few minutes of impersonating locals, they voiced assault, took cash, computers, cell phones, and the like. The problem was that one of the smart guys left their Facebook account logged in. And then you already know what happened. Silly...

3 - Blessed Door

So "pull" and "push" mean what they mean? Who has never been confused with which one is "pull" and which one is "push"? Yeah, the fact is, if you're robbing a convenience store with a toy gun, it's best not to have that kind of doubt when it's time to leave.

That's what happened to James Allan, a 28-year-old man who fumbled after robbing a store and eventually flagged, revealing that his revolver was a toy. What a joke, huh?

4 - The Art of Excess

If you get mad at people posting 20 photos of the sunny sky every morning during the holidays, be aware that this overexposure has its bright side. Since this need to tell the world every step is a kind of universal epidemic, it is not surprising that it is also present in young criminals.

And it was after posting a video on YouTube showing the result of a car theft and a bank robbery that a 19-year-old girl was arrested. Happy birthday to her.

Anthony Garcia was a member of a gang in Los Angeles when he participated in a crime involving homicide. He was on the run for four years, but was eventually stopped by a police officer and got into trouble because his driver's license was expired.

The problem, which could be solved by seizing the vehicle and paying a fine, became more serious when the policeman noticed Garcia's tattoo on his chest, with drawings that perfectly detailed the unsolved crime of four years ago. It wasn't long before tattoo and crime scene investigations revealed the real culprit.
