These 5 rich people donated all their money to charity

What would you do if you had a lot of money? Would you buy a giant house? Would you have a car collection? Would you invest in stocks and real estate? Or maybe you would donate much of your money? Or rather, would you dare to get rid of everything? These latter options seem the craziest of them all, and for some people they may be. The fact is that there are a lot of people out there who don't have such grand ambitions and who used a good deal of their money to those who really need it. Check out:

1 - The millionaire who donated money and a kidney

After getting rich by investing in stocks, Zell Kravinsky decided that his money should serve a purpose greater than accumulating savings interest. In 2001, Kravinsky began donating not only money, but land to charities as well, and over time, $ 45 million had already been distributed.

His family and friends advised him to take it easy on this money-giving thing, but Kravinsky had always made it clear that he had saved enough to make more money when he needed it and that whenever the value went too high he would donate new money.

Not satisfied, Kravinsky donated one of his kidneys to a complete stranger who needed a transplant to live on. When she decided to help so deeply, her wife threatened to divorce - she just didn't do it because singer Pat Boone, when she learned of the situation, told her to forgive her husband for being "so generous." Kravinsky said he would donate any part of his body to anyone who needed it.

2 - The Hollywood director who chose a simple life

Tom Shadyac has directed films such as “Ace Ventura: Animal Detective” and “The Aloprado Professor”, has always been among some of the biggest names in world cinema, had money and recognition, but was not a happy person. On the contrary: he felt empty. This feeling only increased when, in 2007, he had a serious accident that left him thinking about the ephemerality of life.

In an interview with presenter Oprah, Shadyac said she discovered that the secret to complete happiness was to live up to what he believed and share all that was excess with the poor. This is how he decided to dispose of his mansions and property to buy a mobile home and a bicycle. After distributing his wealth to the world, Shadyac began to spread his philosophy of life.

In a statement made a few years ago, the former director said his choice made him a truly happy person, much more than he was when he lived for Hollywood.

3 - A Bigger Fight

Briton Brian Burnie was always rich, but he also always donated part of his money to charity. When his wife faced breast cancer, Burnie decided to do something for the patients who had the same health problems without being able to afford the treatment.

In 2009, Burnie sold a hotel and one of its homes. With the $ 26 million he made from this, he founded his own charity, which is dedicated to accompanying cancer patients, free of charge.

In 2012, the businessman sold another house where he lived with his wife. The property was worth $ 1 million, and the money went to its foundation. Since then he has lived a life without luxuries.

4 - The Billionaire Who Inspired Bill Gates

Chuck Feeney has become rich with many airport stores. He has always made it clear that he intends to donate all his fortune before he dies. Feeney has already donated $ 6.2 billion from his empire to charities.

One of the billionaire's wishes, in addition to dying without money, is to inspire other very wealthy people to donate their possessions before they die. In fact, he has already done that: it was thanks to this guy's statements that Bill Gates and Warren Buffett adopted the same philosophy.

5 - The Japanese millionaire who left nothing to his children

Tycoon Yu Panglin announced in 2010 that his two sons will not receive his fortune after his death and that he would instead donate the equivalent of $ 470 million from his foundation to charity. The millionaire's decision was made because he believes his children should, like him, work to make money.

To avoid further trouble and speculation, Panglin has said his fortune is under the care of the HSBC bank, which must manage everything when he dies.

Panglin was a poor child and said he knew closely the difficulties faced by those without money. As he knew both sides, the poor and the millionaire, Panglin chose not to leave anything to his children, fearing that money would corrupt them. In addition, he always believed that children could do very well without their father's credit card.
