This essay with people who have birthmarks will move you

We are human and we have marks: cellulite, stretch marks, wrinkles, scars, tattoos, spots, birthmarks. Thinking about this last type, the one that is born with us, was that photographer Linda Hansen decided to work and create a unique and impactful essay.

By registering people with their birthmarks, she seeks to show that they exist and that there is nothing wrong with that. It may not be part of your daily life, but those who have visible marks, especially on their faces, end up hearing many offensive questions - "did your boyfriend hit you?", "Did you drop paint on your face?" And "do you have lipstick on your face?" some of them.

For her work, the Danish photographer sought out people who have pink or red marks and, by photographing them, hopes to show their beauty, as unique as their marks. See the following photos:

“I want to confront. How long did you have to look? When did you start seeing the other details in the photo? The nose, the clothes with the trim a little wrong. All the little details that are really important. When you look at the person a lot, the brand does not become more interesting. I compare it to having a tattoo: it's curious, or a special mark with a story. It's beautiful, ”said the photographer, in a statement published on Bored Panda.
