The Death Star, the warlike wonder presented by the Galactic Empire (and destroyed by the Rebel Alliance) in "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope"), has such incredible proportions that even in real life and much smaller than that in the movies, still surprising.

The video above shows the opening of the Death Star replica at Legoland Park in California. This marvel of cinematic architecture has been reproduced with about 500, 000 LEGO pieces, is approximately 4 meters high and weighs 861 kg.

The model also received a green laser, just like the weapon of the original film. At the Legoland exhibition, a space background and miniature ships surround the Death Star in an attempt to recreate the classic battle that culminated in the destruction of the artificial satellite.

The interior and outline of the sphere impresses: care is taken to detail so that it does not just look like a massive LEGO ball. Right next door, Legoland still has a replica of the Death Star trenches - those "corridors" used by the rebels to dodge enemy TIE Fighters and the path Luke Skywalker took before firing the fatal shot that blew up the place.
