High school hackeia student to change own grade

A student from Ygnacio Valley in Concord, California hacked the school's computers to change his and his friends' grades. The action took place last week and, after being discovered, the student apologized.

"I wanted to apologize to the people I raised or dropped. And I'm so sorry for the teacher I hacked, " said David Rotaro, the 16-year-old student at Ygnacio Valley High School.

Unfortunately, Rotaro now faces 14 criminal charges

According to local authorities, Rotaro changed the general exam scores of a dozen students - increasing the score of friends and decreasing disaffection. To do this, Rotaro sent a phishing email to the school teachers. In this case, an email simulating the school itself asking teachers to change the password for a new one. When clicking on the fake link, a field asked for the current teacher login and password. In this way what was written in the field ended up in Rotaro's hands.

"It was very easy, it was something beginner level, " said the student. The authorities involved found further evidence of the phishing attack on Rotaro's home. As could be no different, the student hopes to be a top IT professional. Now, unfortunately, he faces 14 criminal charges.
