US launches new $ 100 ballot

The US Federal Reserve System has announced the launch of a new $ 100 ballot, which is expected to come into circulation in October this year. The famous - and coveted - ticket has been redesigned and features a number of features that make it easier to validate, safer, more colorful and of course harder to fake.

The $ 100 bill, which features Benjamin Franklin's face, corresponds to nearly 80 percent of all US banknotes in circulation. Today there are more than 8.2 billion Ben Franklins worldwide, making it one of the most popular among all major international currencies. It also means that poor Ben was also an important target for counterfeiters on duty.

However, some features of the new ballot should make it difficult - and a lot! - the work of this gang. The US Currency website explains what was new in the note:

Ben with watermark

On the right side, a watermark has been incorporated with the face of Benjamin Franklin that is visible when the ballot is observed against the backlight.

Color Changing Ink Cartridge

There is a cartridge in the central right that has a bell inside and both have a copper color. But just move the note so that the bell changes color, turning greenish.

Three-dimensional holographic tape

Streaked with paper money, the ribbon design changes from small bells to numbers of 100 as the note is moved.

Relief

The new note has several areas in which the print is embossed, looking rougher to the touch, such as Ben's coat, for example.

Security tape

A security tape that can be detected by UV light has been incorporated to the left of Ben's face on the left side of the ballot.

The number “100”, which appears in the lower right corner, also changes color - from copper to green - as the note is manipulated.

On the reverse side of the note, a huge number 100 has been incorporated - which obviously indicates the value of the note - along the right side.

Microprints

A few tiny sentences were included in three locations on the ballot: “The United States of America” on Benjamin Franklin's coat collar, “USA 100” as the frame for the entire watermark, and “One Hundred USA” near the feather over the inkwell.

And you, reader, what did you think of the new ballot? Do you believe the new measures will stop counterfeiting? Do you think any of the news could be adopted in our notes?
