Figures in the clouds? This photographer sees creatures of Greek mythology in waves

Who has never spent hours playing identifying figures in the clouds as a child? For the photographer we're going to talk about next, instead of trying to find animal shapes, cartoon characters, or puppets in the clouds, imagined she was seeing creatures from Greek mythology — and the waves of the sea instead of the sky!

Colossal waves

Her name is Rachel Talibart and, according to Kate Sierzputowski of Colossal, she grew up on the south coast of England and as a small girl used to watch the sea move from her parents' deck and wonder what shapes which she saw in the waves were legendary creatures and monsters, such as those described by Homer in his works, for example.

But Rachel grew up and now she is dedicated to photographing huge waves formed during violent storms and capturing features that refer to the Greek beings she sought so much as a child. The curious thing is that if you pay attention, you can identify scary faces and formations that resemble Greek gods. On the other hand, for those who can't see any of this in Rachel's photos, the compositions are incredibly beautiful. Look:
