Photographer crosses Japan and records decay of abandoned places
Romain Veillon is that typical photographer who loves to record old buildings. But instead of capturing the beauty of well-preserved buildings, he turns his camera lens to deteriorated places whose beauty and grandeur have been engulfed in years of neglect. Following are a series of images he took during a trip to Japan and discover this little-known side of the Rising Sun Land.
2 years ago photographer Romain Veillon toured Japan looking for old buildings
But instead of preserved buildings, he was chasing after abandoned places
On his travels around the country, he photographed motels that fell into oblivion.
Fun Parks That Look Like Thriller Scenarios
Schools where classes have not been taught for a long time
Hotels with compromised structure
And even an adult entertainment club
Veillon also recorded abandoned labs
Totally degraded casinos
Hospitals that have been out of business for several years
Factories where nothing else is produced
And places where beauty has been swallowed up by years of carelessness
The photographer's work shows how buildings look after years of neglect
And in a way it reveals the fragility to which they are subjected
