Photographer secretly climbed Egypt's pyramid and made amazing portraits

Would you dare to climb the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt? First of all this is not allowed, secondly it seems to be quite tiring work. But these two details were not so important to Russian photographer Vadim Makhorov and his faithful friends Vitaliy Raskalov and Marat Dupri.

They waited for the pyramid complex to be closed to tourists to climb one of them - which is clear, 137 meters high - and take amazing pictures. The three remained hidden for almost five hours and then photographed several rare angles of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The photos were published on the Live Journal Makhorov page.

The problem now is that what they did is a crime. The photographer himself said he knew he would have to face three years in prison if he and his friends were caught, and defended himself by saying he did not want to insult anyone. The deed, he said, was just a dream come true.

Dream or not, the Egyptian government is already questioning the effectiveness of local security, as it was very simple for three people to have access to historically reserved places, where are some of the world's most fragile artifacts. Makhorov also commented that he was probably not the first to climb the pyramids, as he claims to have seen some inscriptions there in Arabic, French and Russian.
