Photographer makes stunning images of colorful snakes

Photographer Mark Laita has captured amazing images of snakes that bring out animal details and can make you shiver if you are a little fearful. But the artist's focus was not on the aggressive form of the animals, let alone he intended to cause fear. What Laita wanted - and did very well - was to show the amazing colors of the snakes.

The result of the work was the Serpentine book which, according to the author “is not a snake book” - so much so that he had no concern in choosing species. The work is intended to showcase the art behind the shapes, colors and textures. “To me, snakes have that beauty, ” says Laita.

To make the clicks, the photographer visited dozens of zoos, laboratories and private collections. He chose the snakes he wanted to photograph and expected the owner to call him as soon as the animal had a complete skin change. According to him, this makes the colors more intense.
