Epic phrase by Neil Armstrong when he stepped on the moon was rehearsed

You may have heard the famous phrase " This is a small step for man, a giant leap for humanity " hundreds of times - said by American astronaut Neil Armstrong as he stepped on the moon for the first time. What few people have known so far is how Armstrong conceived this epic expression.

According to The Telegraph, Armstrong's brother Dean revealed that the astronaut wrote the phrase months before leaving for the satellite mission, and even asked him his opinion about the content. The statement came in an interview with the BBC during the making of a documentary, and contradicts what Armstrong had reported in his 2005 biography, which states that the idea about the expression came after landing on the moon.

Regardless of when it was created, the phrase has always generated discussion. Although Armstrong wrote it - there is no doubt about it - many speculate whether the astronaut really meant "to man" or "to a man." As the astronaut's brother suggested during the interview, Armstrong's thinking was originally even more selfish (with the second option), but he seems to have changed his mind during the mission.
