Is there any truth behind these 9 myths about Hitler?

1. Hitler's mustache was inspired by Charlie Chaplin

It may sound like a joke, but it's true. In 1923, Hitler's press secretary suggested he remove his mustache. The dictator did not accept the advice and said he would keep it for being a big fan of Charlie Chaplin.

Coincidence? I think not

2. Hitler killed one of his best friends for being gay

You may not know Ernst Röhm's story, but it is true and well documented. Ernst was one of Hitler's best friends and supporters, but tried hard to protect gays from the oppressive policies of the Third Reich.

Ernst Röhm and Hitler

On June 30, 1934, Ernst was arrested by Hitler himself in a hotel in Munich. A few days later Theodor Eicke, at the behest of the Führer, went to Ernst's cell and handed him a weapon to kill himself. Bravely he refused and said, "If I'm going to be killed, let Mr. Hitler do it." Eicke withdrew from his cell and, minutes later, upon returning, found the prisoner completely naked. Without understanding the reason, he executed it.

3. Hitler fled to Argentina and lived to be 95

There are numerous speculations about Hitler's death. Officially, the Führer reportedly committed firearm suicide and poisoning on April 30, 1945. However, many people believe this story is poorly told.

Did Hitler become a brother?

One theory is that the leader escaped through a series of secret tunnels and later took shelter in Argentina, where he lived until the end of his days. Despite the Soviets' lack of care for Hitler's remains, there is no evidence to prove that he really did not die in 1945.

4. Hitler believed in alchemy

Alchemy is the ancient chemistry practiced in the Medieval Era and united notions of chemistry, physics, astrology, art, metallurgy, medicine, mysticism and religion. The alchemists aimed to find the Philosopher's Stone, which, according to belief, would cure all evils, providing eternal life, and could even turn everything into gold.

"There is a taboo in alchemy that cannot be broken by anyone, the so-called human transmutation"

Among the biggest rumors about Hitler is that he believed in this conversion from one element to another. But the truth is that Heinrich Himmler, one of Germany's leading Nazi Party leaders, was the one who financed the alchemist Karl Malco, who wanted to turn sand into gold.

5. Hitler wanted the holy grail

If you watched the classic Indiana Jones, you might remember the quest for the Holy Grail that legend has given eternal life to anyone who finds it. Well, the Nazis were also after the artifact, but for different reasons: Hitler wanted to associate the historical significance of the play with the German heritage.

All in Search of the Holy Grail

6. The Nazis had a lunar base

German success in space technologies is undeniable, but then believing that they built a secret lunar base back in 1942 is a bit much, don't you think?

Even on the moon?

7. Hitler had a fleet of UFOs

Among the widespread myths out there, one of them says that Hitler kept a fleet of flying saucers hidden in a secret Antarctic base. Again, there is no evidence to show that the Germans dominated any alien technology.

Hitler wanted the world or nothing

8. Hitler was a methamphetamine addict

Several sources describe Hitler as a drug addict. The fact is that the politician suffered from a series of digestive diseases and, as part of the treatment, ingested a daily amount of stimulants, including amphetamine, which possibly caused the addiction.

Yo bitch

9. The dictator had only one testicle

Although bizarre, this curiosity is much cited out there: it is believed that the leader lost a testicle during the Battle of the Somme in World War I. Although there are some medical records that cite the presence of a “retained testis, ” there is nothing about missing it.
