Man is "impaled" when falling on a construction rod in China

This is the kind of accident that can produce empathy in even the most indifferent of men. The 40-year-old Wu Hsing was demonstrating his skills as a balancer in a building construction in the southwestern city of Zhangzhou when he slipped and plummeted for about two meters - only to find an analog-sized metal rod that pierced his genitals.

According to other workers, he was trying to jump from one beam to another when he slipped and fell. "He was showing off his balancing skills, and was doing very well when he was stumbling and slipping, " Hsing's construction partner Cheng Ni said in an interview with People's Daily Online.

“When he hit the ground, he let out a pained yelp, and I got the impression that the Hague stem entered his body, ” Ni recalls. "And, look, what happened was bad enough." The coworker says that on his way down, he found Hsing sitting on the floor with a "huge piece of metal" sticking out of his pants. "There was a lot of blood, and he was quite pale, " Ni said.

Full recovery is uncertain

With the arrival of the ambulance, doctors quickly cut the upper and posterior parts of the rod, leaving only the portion that was in Hsing's body to the surgeons. As one hospital spokesman told People's Daily Online, "It was a very complicated operation, as the metal bar caused enormous damage to the genital area."

Also according to the representative, the concern was not to complicate the situation of the worker. “We need to make sure we don't make the situation even worse.”

Nevertheless, Hsing's full recovery is still uncertain. "It is too early to say whether he will be able to fully recover his reproductive organs, but at first it must be considered that he was incredibly fortunate in that the stem only penetrated there without piercing his body or piercing his neck, " said the hospital, adding that the play was "long enough to cross your body and out through your head."

Wu Hsing is currently recovering at the hospital.
