British “Iron Man” breaks world record in special-flight flight

One of the things that makes the character Tony Stark so dear is that Iron Man's futuristic gadgets are not that far from our reality. So much so that sometimes comes someone with a costume full of gadgets wanting to fly around. And in one of these cases it not only worked, but it broke the world record: British inventor Richard Browning is now the "fastest man in a body-controlled jet engine suit."

Browning, 38, wore a self-made outfit of 40, 000 pounds (R $ 172, 000). The aspirating Mark I is controlled by the movement of the arms and has a panel with fuel consumption information on the helmet visor. The feat took place on Wednesday (08) at Guinness World Records Day.

After two unsuccessful attempts, he managed to reach just over 61 km / h on a 100 meter path and overcame the previous barrier, which was about 48 km / h, and spiked his name in the book Guinness World Records. "The suit can actually reach several hundred kilometers per hour, but the difficulty is to reach high speeds safely and in a straight line, " he told the Daily Mail.

And the adventures should not stop there. "I'm glad I broke the record and I have no doubt this is just the beginning." Check out the boy's ride:
