Unpublished illustrations of Harry Potter by artist Mary GrandPré

A series of unpublished illustrations by artist Mary GrandPré for the Harry Potter series has finally been posted on the internet for fans to somewhat miss the adventures of the Hogwarts little wizard.

Mary GrandPré illustrated the covers and chapters of the American editions of the series. His drawings were also used in books published in Brazil.

The artist was one of the privileged who could read JK Rowling's materials before everyone else. The illustrator received the texts and marked the passages she considered important enough to merit an illustration.

GrandPré and Rowling did not work directly. The artist sent her illustrations to the publishers, who chose which drawings to enter in the final versions of the books.

Some of these works by the artist ended up being left out of editions. Now these materials can be checked in the gallery below.
