It is now possible to buy a holographic girlfriend in Japan

Japan is a wonderful country and it contains customs considered somewhat somewhat exotic to us who live here in the West. Because there would be no better place in the world for the creation of Gatebox, a virtual assistant who pretends to be a "holographic girlfriend" and who, besides being company, can control devices in your home.

The holographic girl sends messages to her cell phone asking when you return home and even prepares a surprise reminder of the celebration of the couple's three months.

The video shows Boku no Yome, Japanese for “my girl, ” which is represented by the image of a little hologram girl (called Hikari Azuma) inside a device that resembles a slightly larger smart speaker. It can be commanded by voice commands and, when connected to the IoT system, is able to control house lights, smart locks and various other appliances.

The holographic girl sends messages to her cell phone asking when you return home and, as you can see in the demo video, even prepares a surprise reminder of the celebration of the couple's three months. It is certainly something that seems taken from the script of an episode of Black Mirror, but can already be purchased in Japan for about 150, 000 yen, or $ 5, 393. In addition to this amount, a monthly subscription of approximately R $ 54 is required.

For now, although it has already been launched, the wizard will function as a demo system. The final version of Hikari Azuma arrives in December this year with several new features and improved artificial intelligence.
