Lady Gaga performs with flying dress at new album release

Of all the shocking, provocative and outrageous outfits singer-pop star Lady Gaga has ever worn, the costume displayed last night at the release event of her new album can be the most well-behaved and conventional - even if it is. able to fly.

The "flying dress" Volantis, Gaga's name for the outfit, was able to lift the artist and make a small flight on the stage of Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York, in front of the guests for ARTRAVE, the promotion party of her ARTPOP album.

The Volantis project was under development for two years and was a request from Lady Gaga herself. The equipment contains six propellers arranged in hexagonal formation and two motors that provide electric power for its operation. All control of the mechanism is done remotely, with a "pilot" commanding the steering of the device.

Check out the video below with Gaga's flight aboard the Volantis dress.

In this launch, the vehicle reached a height of just over 1.5 meters. "This was a small step for Volantis, but a big step for Lady Gaga, " the singer mocked. As recently announced, the artist would like to perform her first performance in space - and perhaps her flying dress is a first attempt to soar.

The metaphorical dress

Introducing Volantis to the select group of guests, Gaga said the dress is a symbol of today's youth, and she wears this costume to become the vehicle of the voices of this youth.

The outfit also has very feminine and elegant features, and has a futuristic look. Nevertheless, the costume is not nearly as extravagant as the outfit and display that followed this maiden flight.

At the private party after the stage performance, Gaga arrived dressed in another even more curious model - as you can see in the picture below. The ARTRAVE space also contained several statues made by sculptor Jeff Koons, including one that mimics the cover art of the ARTPOP album.
