Public masturbation is defended by the Swedish Court

In an unprecedented decision in the country, the Swedish Court decided to acquit a man who was caught masturbating on a Stockholm beach. The incident took place on June 6, when the 65-year-old man lowered his swimming trunks and decided to "have fun" near the water. It was not long before the subject was referred to the nearest Police District on charges of sexual abuse. However, the citizen was declared innocent, as he did not do the act towards anyone but solitary.

In an interview with The Local newspaper, prosecutor Olof Vrethammar stated that to consider this man a criminal he must have molested someone or a group of people, which did not happen. "I think the judgment of the Court was sensible, " Vrethammar added.

When asked if this trial would give precedence for public masturbation to be legal in Sweden, the prosecutor confirmed: “Yes, the district court has tried the case. And then we can conclude that there is nothing wrong with masturbating on the beach. ” However, Vrethammar also warned that in the future, the act could be considered as misconduct or disturbance of peace.
