First woman to receive partial face transplant dies

In July this year, we published the details about the largest face transplant in the world. Patrick Hardison was a firefighter when his face was completely disfigured during a fire.

The operation involved a team of more than 150 people, including doctors, technicians and nurses. After 26 hours, Patrick had a new face.

Although the news shows the success of the transplant, it should be remembered that the patient is still at risk of rejection and may have other problems associated with the operation.
