Anyone who likes to stare at slender mannequins in shop windows has probably never imagined that these “dolls” might be watching over everything the customer does. In Italy, some establishments are already adopting the technology called EyeSee, which can recognize some characteristics of people passing by and looking at what the mannequin is wearing.

In fact, the Almax device does not really recognize the person, but rather their age range, gender and some ethnic characteristics. With this, the store that pays about $ 10, 200 to have the device in your window can profile your potential customers more accurately.

Mannequins maker EyeSee says it has sold the devices to several retailers across Europe and the US. The intention of these companies is usually to plan more targeted marketing strategies for those who are already interested in what they see in front of the store.

Even introducing and selling the spy mannequins to various companies, Almax declined to name any of them.
