What happens when you cry in space?

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, the first in the country to walk space, made a fun video at the International Space Station where he currently lives. In the video, he answers the question: what happens if you cry in space? With zero gravity, a bizarre phenomenon is what happens:

The tears do not fall, after all, there is no gravity. They just accumulate just below your eye, forming a pocket of water. To show the effect, he spills several drops near his eye, simulating tears of tears.

"So if you keep crying, just forming a bigger pocket of water in your eye, " Hadfield explains. “Until eventually it crosses your nose and goes to your other eye. It either evaporates or spreads to your cheek. Or you take a towel and dry yourself. ”

And the astronaut says, “Your eyes will definitely cry in space. But the big difference is that the tears don't fall. So take a handkerchief. ”
