Pacu is a thing of the past; the scary creature of the time is the tiger fish

We have already frightened you with the many stories of the macabre pacu, and if you thought it was the most sinister fish of all, you better not come across the huge-toothed Congo fish that belong to the characiform order.

The giant piranha, also known as the Goliath tigerfish, has 32 incredibly sharp teeth, weighing over 50 kg and measuring 1.50 m. It is a typical carnivorous freshwater fish that, when attacking, gives true dance shows. A killer dance, it is true, but very interesting if you happen to be not part of the "goldfish" main course.

What differs tiger fish from traditional piranha is precisely the size of each animal. Both have sharp teeth like scissors and strong enough to wreak havoc, but piranhas are much smaller than the creepy Congo giant. The logic is: if you had to choose between one and the other, you would rather face a piranha. This conclusion in itself is already disturbing.

Piranhas, close to tiger fish, look like a goldfish that children have at home. The teeth of these animals measure at least 3 centimeters and are used to snap the prey chosen by the giant. These victims are usually selected by the scale tone - the most preferred are the bright ones.

Attacks on humans happen mostly when people are wearing or holding something shiny. When in doubt, avoid frequenting Congo's waters, and if you do, find a way to camouflage yourself.
