Police investigate youtuber who appears hitting dog during video

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a youtuber on suspicion of animal abuse after the content producer appeared in a video tapping her cart. According to Buzzfeed News, Brooke Houts, who has over 300, 000 subscribers to her YouTube channel, unintentionally published an unfinished version of a prank video where she pushes, screams and even spits on her Dobermann dog.

The final edition of the video has over 27, 000 negatives, even without bringing the previously published images. Nevertheless, netizens have managed to save the parts of the production that are generating controversy, as in the tweet below (warning: the images are disturbing).

In addition to receiving criticism from social network users and celebrities such as actress Jameela Jamil, the content producer is also targeted by the Los Angeles Police Animal Cruelty Task Force. Speaking to Buzzfeed News, an official said the agency was "aware of the incident" and has already opened an investigation.

Youtuber defends himself

Brooke Houts did not comment on the Los Angeles Police investigation, but defended herself against the criticism she received through a Twitter post. In a lengthy text, the content producer says it was going through a tough week and her actions are unjustifiable, but they served to "show that dog behavior is unacceptable."

Youtuber also defends itself by saying that it is not an animal abuser and that its dog was not injured during the actions shown in the video. "Anyone who has ever witnessed or heard about true animal abuse can clearly see that, " says the digital influencer.

YouTube has not yet officially commented on the issue, but this is not the first time the video platform has been involved in such a case. In 2018, a site content producer was convicted of teaching the Nazi greeting to a dog in a recording.
