The man lives in northern India and confessed to swallowing only 28 knives, some folding, but doctors found more than that.

The man's greatest demand was that the knives should be six inches, because they were "hotter"

Singh, who has two children, is now recovering at the hospital after the operation caused internal bleeding.

However, he said, his addiction lasted only two months.

The surgeon in charge of operating Singh said he was afraid he couldn't help the knife-eating cop.

"A small mistake could take the patient's life, " said Dr. Jatinder Malhorta

Surjeet Singh seems to have learned the lesson and said he will not repeat the bizarre "meal"

“I'm glad they saved my life and I want to go back to my family, ” he said.
