How long do you pay attention to a conversation?

No matter if the conversation is with a friend or partner, if the subject is uninteresting, you will lose interest in the conversation in just 15 seconds. This was a finding of research by experts at the British clinic Hidden Hearing. The goal was to find out why people lose interest in certain topics.

Researchers have found that when the subject does not please women, they stop paying attention after the first 15 seconds, only pretending to agree with the conversation. This was the revelation of one third of the interviews, who claimed to have this behavior.

According to the information released by the Daily Mail, it is not just the news that leaves the conversation. The study revealed that men stop hearing what the other is saying in just 10 seconds. And if the subject involves feelings or gossip, they are twice as likely to "hang up".

The survey also found which subjects understood each other most in a conversation. Sighing or moaning helps to divert focus, as does talking about soap operas, about yourself, or about work. Complaining about housework is not a good idea either.
