Python Swallows Huge Bat Without Descending Tree In Australian Backyard

A series of nightmarish images recently surfaced on the Internet after a couple of Australians found a hideous scene in the back garden of their own home. Mille Stoevring and Shane Tuer were taking care of their own lives when the barks of their border collie bitch, Lilly, drew their attention to a local tree where a snake was caught in the process of swallowing a bat of the great.

Residents of the Sunshine Beach area of ​​Queensland, the couple was shocked to see the reptile feed slowly for about 30 minutes - time that hung on the tree. “We were filming about 20 cm away and the snake didn't give a damn. It was fascinating to see her shaping the bat's body from one wing tip to the other, ”Stroevring told the Sunshine Coast Daily.

According to the resident, the snake had trouble opening its jaw wide enough to make the "giant" bat pass. When the “victim” had been completely swallowed, the snake lay vertically on a branch, displaying protruding tips in sections where there were bones of its meal. Then the reptile simply slipped into the foliage and out of sight.
