NASA satellite records giant solar flare
NASA released the video you just saw above, in which an unmanned spacecraft records when a huge solar flare occurs. Despite being a daunting visual spectacle, the eruption poses no risk to us earthlings.
According to the space agency, the coronal mass ejection - plasma expulsion from the solar corona - that occurred yesterday was not even that strong, being only in the middle of the intensity scale. Moreover, while powerful explosions may influence the operation of electronic devices and telecommunications systems here on Earth, there is no possibility that this eruption will affect us, as fortunately it has occurred in the other direction.
