Unintentionally, wanting: old woman damages museum work valued at $ 380,000

Do you remember the 82-year-old Spaniard Cecilia Giménez who destroyed an image of Jesus Christ when she tried to restore it? Well then, Dona Cecilia's art was going to school: a 91-year-old lady decided to complete a crossword puzzle that was displayed on the wall of a museum, without knowing that it was a work of art!

The piece titled “The Reading-Work Piece” by a private collector was on loan to the Neues Museum, located in Berlin, Germany. It was made in 1970 by the German artist Arthur Køpcke, representative of the Fluxus movement, which mixed different types of arts. The painting was valued at R $ 380 thousand!

But you have to give the woman a discount: next to the board was a message that said "Insert Words." She thought it was a great opportunity to test her vocabulary and obeyed the poster. The disaster happened during a lady walk with a group of seniors. Museum director Eva Krause downplayed this by explaining that the damage was not permanent and that the museum would cover all the restoration expenses. Less bad, huh?
