Time-lapse shows last Sunday's solar eclipse [video]

The video you just saw above, which brings together beautiful images of last Sunday's eclipse - visible only in North America and Asia, unfortunately - was created by photographer Corey Poole from 700 images captured through his telescope.

According to the photographer, the images were captured at 60-second intervals and, in order to highlight the chromosphere - the atmospheric layer of the sun that lies between the photosphere and the solar corona - which appears in the video with a reddish hue, he used a special filter.
