Seeing this sculptor tinkering with his hyper-realistic works is very disturbing

After you take a look at the following creations by Mexican artist Ruben Orozco Loza, there is no doubt that the guy is beyond talented! He is dedicated to working with hyper-realistic sculptures and is very good at what he does, but seeing him move the pieces is very, very strange, and can be quite disturbing!

Disconcerting talent

According to the folks at Noo - a superb Instragram profile you can see from this link - Ruben creates his sculptures from materials like resin, wood and silicone, and gives the finishing touches using real hair and hair, that are applied wire to wire, dental prostheses and fake eyes. The artist also uses his talents to give the right skin tones, including imperfections, textures, blemishes and sparkles that, together, give the works a disconcerting and very human look.

But it is one thing to see the finished sculptures and to be amazed at how much they resemble the characters Ruben recreates - among them Frida Kahlo, David Bowie and Pope Francis - and another to follow the production process. Prepare to feel small waves of distress:
