This may sound like a joke, but the University of Washington is recruiting volunteers who want to participate in a study in which they will receive $ 3, 500 to eat fast food for three months.

According to The Huffington Post, researchers want to study obesity and why some overweight people develop diseases like diabetes or related to cardiovascular risk factors, while others don't.

Volunteers will be able to choose from McDonald's, KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Burger King, and spend three months eating the food available on their menus. Researchers expect participants to gain 5% body mass during the study, but in addition to compensation, all volunteers will be able to enroll in a weight loss program at the end of the project.

And you reader, would you volunteer to participate in such a study in the name of science?
