5 of the most famous ghosts of all time

You may not believe in ghosts today, but you may have been scared at some point in your life, either after watching that movie at night or when your friend insisted on the story of such a cup game. The fact is that supernatural stories are present in various cultures and, whether they are true or not, it does not matter. Most of them are at least quite creative.

1 - The Flying Dutchman

We're talking about a ghost ship that haunts poor seafaring creatures for 17 centuries. Witnesses say the ship, which often appears in a haunting and haunting image, is a sign of foreboding: the boat and crew that encounter the ghost will be forever cursed.

The curse would have begun when a Dutch captain defied divine powers and refused to take security measures during a heavy storm despite the pleas of the crew and passengers. The legend has become so well known that it has even been reported in some movies, such as "Pirates of the Caribbean."

2 - The Drury Lane Ghost

Drury Lane is one of the many theaters across the English capital and is also a setting filled with stories of ghost and haunting appearances, the most famous being that of an all-gray man carrying a sword. Many people have claimed to have seen the ghastly phantom, and the buzz is one of the factors that ensures the fame of the place.

3 - The murdered salesman

The story goes that once, in 1840, in New York, a young appliance salesman knocked on the Bell family's door to negotiate some kitchen items. He was met by a housekeeper who welcomed him and reported that the bosses were traveling. The man spent a few days at the family home and this caused the employee to be fired - a decision that was short-lived as in a matter of days she was rehired.

The salesman left, but many of his utensils remained in the family kitchen, and after a while the clerk began to be haunted by the salesman's ghost who had actually been murdered during the brief time she stopped working at home. This story was told by two sisters, Maggie and Katie Fox, who claim to have talked with the man's spirit.

Such a narrative started some people to study the communication between the living and the dead, and Spiritualism - unlike Spiritism - was founded and has followers to this day, even after the sisters confessed that the story of the salesman did not pass. Just a joke.

4 - Mary the Bloodthirsty

In Brazil it's not common, but in the US people believe the legend that if someone goes to a bathroom with the lights off, stands in front of a mirror and calls her “bloody Mary”, she runs the risk of encountering Maria, the bloodthirsty killer of little children.

This legend, which is present in some films, even comes from the true stories of Queen Mary Tudor I, who ruled England and Ireland and caused the deaths of approximately 300 people during the struggles between the Catholic and Protestant religions.

The queen's fame has become a theme of music, movies and even a recipe for a drink made of vodka and tomato juice. Served?

5 - Gasparzinho

He is a child ghost who doesn't like to scare people and who, in some literary versions, appears with a friend who is a witch. Although the friendship between a ghost and a little witch is, to say the least, strange, the image created by the little fellow ghost is definitely not the scariest, but it is one of the best known, no doubt, and could not be left out of the picture. our short list.

Of course there are a lot of other ghosts out there - tell us about the ones you remember.
